Writing * Photography * Contemplation

Photo Friday: Contemplation

I just ordered two books from Amazon in my quest to make my photography more spiritual in nature. To me, photography is so much more than just adjusting my settings and clicking the shutter. It’s seeking to connect with the beauty that surrounds me.  It’s seeking to connect with and capture the spirit of the person in front of my lens.

To do so, I need to quiet the noise buzzing around my head and really look, really see. What is the essence of what I am seeing?

Here are the two books I purchased and look forward to reading:

I haven’t read them yet so cannot provide you with a review, but I look forward to sharing them with you in the near future!
Do you have a contemplative practice?  Is it based on art or writing? Please share your experiences! We can learn from each other!

  1. I don't have a contemplative practice of any kind, and I probably need one. One day maybe I'll take up photography too! Those sound like really interesting books, by the way. Let us know what you think about them.
