Stealing Time
I’m currently reading two different books by Julia Cameron – The Artist’s Way and The Right to Write. Yes, in addition to photography, I like to write and am beginning to explore some options in that area.
So, what does this have to do with stealing time? We always think that when we have a big goal we need a big block of time. Let’s say, for instance, I wanted to write a book. I may think I need to wait until I was retired or had a sabbatical or a few months off. However, that’s too long to wait! What if I never get that big block of time? Does that mean my dream is permanently derailed?
It doesn’t have to be that way. Take advantage of the moments you have. Maybe you have a 20 minute commute to your job on public transportation. Use it! Maybe while dinner is cooking, you can use that block of time at the kitchen table. What about when you are waiting at the doctor’s office?
In other words, if you want it badly enough, don’t let a lack of time be an excuse. Make it happen! Steal the time you can as often as you can and just do it!
Go ahead! You have my permission to steal – time that is!
What will you steal time for? Share with a comment!
