Thorns Hurt

Words hurt sometimes.  Words said in hate can hurt.  Words said to intimidate can hurt.  Words said in anger or with carelessness can hurt.

Like a thorn, they can tear the flesh of our heart.

Have you ever been hurt by words?  What about fists?  Have you ever been bullied?

My friend Jacqui DeLorenzo has.  And that experience marked her for life.  But not in a bad way.  Sometimes our wounds can be incredibly beautiful.  Not at the moment, of course.  But as our wounds heal, they can blossom into beauty and be a gift and inspiration to others.

That’s what happened to Jacqui.  And she has taken that and written a book.  Now, lots of people would have been satisfied with just that.  But not Jacqui.  All proceeds from her book are donated.  And she goes to schools and such to speak!  She is an inspiration to me and I’m sure she’ll be an inspiration to you too.

I encourage you to take a look and see what she has to say.  And, as a sidenote, I photographed the cover which tickles me to no end! I am quite honored that Jacqui chose me to photograph the cover of her book!!
